2011 OLMSTED FALLS BASEBALL
 

Coach:	Dan Largent (2nd season)
Last Year:	16-18 overall, 3-11 in the SWC
Top Returners:	Zack Ferster, sr- SS/2B; Brennan Laird, jr – 3B/P; Nate Ferster, jr- CF/P;  Denton Sagerman, sr- SP/1B
Top Pitchers:	Denton Sagerman –sr-– 11-4 career record. Struck out 60 batters in 2010.
Season Expectations:	We have 3 everyday position players, our #1 pitcher, and 2 key back-ups from 2010. While we lost 8 seniors, of those 8, only 3 were starters as juniors. We are in a similar situation this year. We have a nice mix of young talent and seniors who have been waiting their turn to shine.
Key Games:	The SWC is always a meat-grinder, and in addition to that we were invited to play in the Southeastern Baseball Classic in Hartsville, SC. Other key non-conference games: 4/9 Toledo St. Francis, 4/12 St. Ignatius, 4/16 Bay High School (DH), 5/1 Kent State Tournament vs. Akron Hoban and Strongsville, Cure Tay-Sachs Classic vs. North Royalton.
Notes:	Started the season off by going 4-0 in South Carolina and winning the Bluffton BATR-UP Tournament. Came back and really struggled during the regular season. (see below) In the postseason, we went to State Final Four for the 1st time in school history, regardless of division. We were thin at pitcher last season, but we had 2 very good ones that we could use in a 2 game a week setting. We were built for the postseason, not for playing 5-6 games a week.
